Tap/municpal water purification plants

Water purification plants

Our plants eliminate most conditions of impurity including sediment, unappetizing taste or odor and bacteriological contamination, the treated water output being to the highest consumption standards.Though the main application is for bottled water production, the plants are also suitable for inline filtration for a distributed supply and also bespoke plants can be designed and manufactured to suit specialized treatment requirements to suits specialized treatment requirements. With benefits of simplicity economy and most importantly effectiveness, Norwa Africa services pure water treatment plants are the ideal solution for the production of totally pure water from majority of semi-treated water source.

Featured stages of purification:

  • Sediment filtration
  • Organic chemicals, chlorine & odurs removal
  • Bacteria removal
  • Water softening
  • Ultraviolet disinfection (UV)

Borehole/well water purification plants

Standard stages of purification:

1. Pretreatment water purification

Pretreatment is used to assit in the work for reverse osmosis purification and it can have the following stages depending on the feed water quality:

  • Oxidation of iron & iron removal
  • Flocculantion
  • pH adjustment
  • Sediment removal
  • Organic chemicals, chlorine & odours
  • Water softening
  • Ultrafiltration
  • Biofouling prevention

2. Reverse osmosis water purification

Compared to traditional filtration technologies that rely on a screen or filter to remove particles, reverse osmosis (RO) is a pressure-driven separation process that employs a semipermeable membrane and the principles of crossflow filtration.Reverse osmosis water treatment provides the finest level of filtration & therefore a highly effective process for removing contaminants such as:

  • Endotoxins/pyrogens.
  • Insecticides/pesticides.
  • Herbicides.
  • Antibiotics.
  • Nitrates.
  • Sugars.
  • Soluble salts.
  • Metal ions.

3. Post-treatment water purification

It is suitable for the removal and deactivation of micro-oragnisms and bacteria thus reducing the risk of water borne diseases. Post-treatment stages depends on the method of storage such as:

  • Biofouling prevention
  • UV Filtration
  • Disinfection

Operating parameters

Raw water quality:

  • TDS level of upto 2000 ppm for the low brackish water
  • TDS level of upto 5000 ppm for the medium brackish water
  • TDS level of upto 8000 ppm for the sea water
  • No chlorine
  • Chloride level should be less than 350 ppm
  • Total hardness < 200 ppm & no suspended solids
